We are currently credentialed with United Health Care/Optum, Aetna, Cigna/Evernorth, Carelon, and BCBS of Arizona. We are actively working toward credentialing with additional major insurance panels. For clients with other insurance plans, we remain a cash-pay practice at this time and provide superbills for those who wish to request reimbursement from their insurance. Please note that reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your specific plan. We encourage you to contact your health insurance provider directly to inquire about your out-of-network mental health benefits.
We currently serve clients across Arizona, New Mexico, and California through virtual appointments, with options for in person appointments.
We currently treat adults aged 18 and older.
Medication isn’t one-size-fits-all. Our approach is rooted in collaboration, education, and respect for your comfort level.
After your initial evaluation, we’ll talk through your symptoms, lifestyle, and goals. If medication feels appropriate and you’re ready to begin, we’ll create a treatment plan together that supports your mental health, not just numbs the symptoms.
If you are prescribed a controlled medication (such as stimulants or certain anxiety medications), you will need to be seen at least once a month. This is to ensure safe, responsible prescribing and to comply with federal and state regulations. Monthly follow-up visits allow us to monitor how the medication is working, assess for side effects, and make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan. We take a careful and collaborative approach to controlled substances to prioritize your well-being and safety.
At Time for Comfort Psychiatry, we do not continue or initiate long-term benzodiazepine prescriptions (such as Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin, or Valium). However, we understand that discontinuing these medications can be challenging, and we are here to support you through a safe and compassionate tapering process. Our goal is to help you manage symptoms with evidence-based alternatives while prioritizing your comfort, safety, and long-term well-being.
